I recently enjoyed the immense pleasure of being interviewed by Gail Zugerman, host of Growing Older With Gusto.
Many of you already are already aware of my professional background as a Career Counselor / Job Search Specialist. I’ve found that the majority of the exercises I used with my former clients to focus in on their values, preferred personal style and core competencies are useful tools to draw upon as we age.
Becoming the most authentic version of ourselves is both a major gift and a challenge. As we contemplate the New Year and making our resolutions, it can be helpful to clearly define our most cherished values, skills that give our lives meaning and purpose and other aspects of our personality so that we can live with greater conscious intention. The more we pinpoint those aspects of our lives that represent what we truly want from life, the greater the likelihood we will live lives that are self-actualized and meaningful.
I invite you to check out the video, try some of the exercises I suggest and think about your own keys to aging with authenticity. After all, you get what you focus on in life. So why not make your focus one that leads to a life that’s filled with the personal fulfillment from being authentically you?
