Without a doubt, boomer women are reinventing the spirit and style of aging. To these ends, Cheryl Benton, has created the most wonderful website, newsletter and go-to resource for us “women of a certain age” called The Three Tomatoes.
Now, she has added to her numerous offerings aimed at our generation by authoring an inspiring look at growing older as a woman in today’s culture. Her book is called Can You See Us Now? And there’s little question that the title says it all!
Although the book takes into account the struggles and slights suffered by women of maturity (it’s not a not a rah-rah, perky whitewash of aging), the pages are filled with plenty of humor and sass. I was immediately drawn in by the lives of these multi-dimensional, strong and feisty characters, and couldn’t wait to see what came next. I’m sure you’ll agree that this book is a real page-turner. I promise, it’s one you won’t want to put down.
If you are fed up dealing with the invisibility factor in your own life, be sure catch this lively interview I had with Cheryl celebrating all things aging. As it says on the cover of Can You See Us Now?: “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll root them on, and you’ll never think about age the same way again.”
