For most of us, spas are these mystic places that we get to go to only on special occasions such as Mother’s Day, a birthday or when we are on holiday. Our body needs a spa more than three times a year, however, especially because a relaxed body leads to fewer migraines, alleviation of stress and anxiety, improved skin and muscles, and a better mood.
Spas can be expensive and with work and other responsibilities loaded on our shoulders, it can be hard to go to an actual spa. Still, there are ways we can bring that spa-like feeling into our home with a few ingredients and tools that can easily be found lying around the house.
Take eggs for instance. That unassuming protein ball chilling in your fridge can deep condition your hair thanks to the yolks. The egg whites, on the other hand, can help you to treat your oily skin. Flowers will also bring that spa-like feeling into your home. A bunch of rose petals mixed with warm water and coconut oil will help create a relaxing bathing session if you are craving a Hammam experience. Keep your flowers spa ready by cutting the stems at a sharper angle and by changing the water often.
An easy spa-like treatment you can do every single day is to heat the lotion on a radiator as you start showering, so the lotion will go deeper into your skin and soothe your sore muscles. You can even try creating that sauna-like feeling by soaking a towel with oil and hot water then patting it on your skin with your bathroom door closed so that the room fills up with steam.
There are other things you can do without spending money on an actual spa trip as the following infographic will show but when more intense treatments are required then make the time to go to the spa. We should never feel guilty about giving our body natural treatments to help us heal and relax.
