Women who have reached the age of 50 and beyond well know the importance of keeping fit. Most any article we read on positive aging stresses the importance of exercise to retain muscle mass, stop bone loss, improve mood and keep us looking our best. Yet our backs, knees and shoulders can often resist resistance training, leaving us with painful reminders of our attempts at keeping supple and svelte. No surprise… gym rats over 50 suffer our share of aches and pains.
But there is real help out there! The fine folks at Salonpas were kind enough to send me a collection of their products to review. And, just a few days after the box arrived, my back cooperated by going into painful spasms. (I had lifted something heavy and twisted to put it down—just the motion my chiropractor warns me about doing.) At any rate, I decided that these two coincidences collided to present the perfect time to try out Salonpas.
First I used the gel, which I found to be immediately soothing. The pain subsided for several hours. But I had a heavy schedule of meetings and outings so decided to go for the patch because that lasts from 8 to 12 hours. Let me tell you… it was as if a miracle took place on my lower back! Within a very few minutes, the pain was virtually gone. And, even though I had to sit for hours (the worst thing your can do when your back is out), I was comfortable.
I rarely recommend products, but I do feel quite good about recommending this one. Over the counter pain pills can be hard on your liver and carry the risk of potential drug interactions. Salanpas is a far safer choice because it provides topical pain relief that really, really works.
Consequently, for you women (and men) who run into the occasional aches and pains experienced by the post 50 fitness buff, you’ll want to be sure to check out Salanpas. Plus, when you virtually eliminate the discomfort exercise can leave behind, you’ll have one less excuse against working out. So stay fit, stay feisty and, when you need it, get yourself some Salonpas!

I was introduced to them over 15 years ago, and have been a steady customer ever since! I’m over 50 now, and not sure what I would do without them. I cannot take OTC for my pain because of internal bleeding. I love Salonpas! Thanks for the great review!
