I think I'd lose it without those moments of luxury. I'm an aromatherapy bath and candles kind of gal. The ultimate is making time for meditation and reading, two of my favorite luxuries that are actual necessities that I need to honor more as such. It's sounds corny, but taking time to smell the roses--watch the sunset or sunrise, feel kitty whiskers or enjoy a loved one smiling at me--I want to allow myself more! Thanks for the reminder that we can do so much to enjoy life without any fancy gear or ceremony, Eileen. You've helped me reorient at a time I need it most!

For many years I traveled the country doing art shows in a motorhome. It did not have a bathtub (well, not one you could actually use anyway!). To me a long soak in a decent sized bathtub surrounded by nice smelling bubbles with a candle burning and an ice cold martini of choice is my idea of an everyday luxury!

Staying in bed all day and watching DVD after DVD while I eat things that are bad for my waistline is also something I consider a luxury - I try to do this at least every couple of months!

A professional pedicure - luxury! Reading a book by a warm fire - luxury! Chocolate Covered Strawberries - Luxury (and very easy to do!)

I think Bill is a very smart guy and I'm taking his advice and giving myself these more often!

Awww, what a pleasant guy! I just watched a couple of the episodes from his site.. wonderful videos, I could easily let hours slip away viewing! I bookmarked to go back to later to see more. I love that Bill is all about luxury being the beauty around you and not status or money. I think that's an ideal way to be.. to find these moments of luxury around you in your everyday life no matter where you are and what your situation is. They are there to enjoy. Thanks for sharing Eileen!

You know, I never considered a "moment of luxury" I even have a hard time spelling it. Now, I do take vacation moments. But they include Costco, Barnes and Nobles and Whole Foods. The only luxury is staying at Whole Foods long enough to earn a free bag.
But I like the idea of a "moment of luxury." Thanks Eileen, something else for this Boomer to explore.
