The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift for Women Over Fifty
If you’re a woman over fifty and a mom, you’ve likely enjoyed your share of Mother’s Day breakfasts in bed—slightly burnt, over-buttered toast prepared by chubby little fingers and delivered with a grin of pride blended with unconditional love. As the years passed and your children grew, you may have received flowers, phone calls from far off places, or other signs you were thought of on this “Hallmark Day” that’s meant for us.
However, as we grow older, even moms turn our focus from receiving from our loved ones to receiving more from ourSELVES. One of the greatest treasures we can gift ourselves with on this very special day is time to reflect, relax, and simply enjoy the little pleasures in life. If I were to take a survey of how most of us would want to do that, I’d bet the overwhelming response would be to turn off the phone and the computer, grab a cup of tea, curl up with a great book, and lose yourself in the twists and turns of a compelling novel.
If you’re in agreement, have I got a gift for YOU! Mary Higgins Clark, long honored as America’s number one best selling “Queen of Suspense,” has just come out with her latest. It’s called Just Take My Heart and explores a fascinating and medically documented phenomenon: heart transplant recipients frequently report they experience the memories and personality traits of their donor. Of course, this is all interwoven in the plot of a multi-layered murder mystery that will keep you turning pages even as your own heart skips a beat or two in anticipation of the next stunning surprise.
However, don’t take it from me—hear the words of Mary herself as she describes both her book and her remarkable life on Feisty Side of Fifty Radio. The interview only lasts fifteen minutes but you’ll wish it could go on and on. I promise you, you will thoroughly enjoy listening to this amazing woman and all she has experienced. So, do something for yourself: grab that cup of tea, prop up your feet, and take a listen.
A very Happy Mother’s Day to one and all!

I listened to that interview…TWICE. She was personable, and I had a million questions I would have loved to ask her. Do you think she would consent to do another show to field questions?

I enjoyed the interview so much, Eileen–and I notified all my Sisters in Crime to listen or catch it on the link later. One e-mailed me about how great it was and how grateful she was that I told her about it. Mary Higgins Clark is a fascinating personality. Can’t wait to read her book with such an intriguing premise, and you are becoming my favorite interviewer.
BTW, I bought a Fifty, Feisty, & Flaunting It t-shirt for a close friend who just turned 50. She loved it!
Your show rocks!
