Colorful is Her Middle Name

March 19, 2009 By Eileen Williams 10 Comments

For those of you who read my last post, you know I’m off on a new venture. Like many women over fifty, I’m tired of getting birthday cards and gifts telling me I’m “over the hill.” Although there is a certain humor to these, I’d just as soon get my laughs with messages telling me I’m “reaching my peak,” “in my prime,” and downright FEISTY! Because I think there’s a real need to celebrate growing older with sass and spirit, I opened my Feisty Boomer Boutique. There are Tees, aprons, mugs, cards, and more that colorfully proclaim we boomers are far from the downhill of life. In fact, we’re as vital, spirited, and revolutionary as ever. Menopause and spunk—what a combo!

However, none of this would have happened had it not been for the Pop Art Diva (the artist formerly known as Terri). Her imagination, eye for design, and sense of humor brought life to my ideas and her Technicolor creations are lively and fun. Terri’s designs convey the saucy and sassy energy of our generation and the old gal spunk I wanted.

Terri also created my masthead and transformed my blog from blah to bodacious. My stats grew and I started getting tons of new contacts from around the world.

So, for those of you out there with a blog or website that needs a makeover, or if you’d like to launch your own line of products and need colorful, eye-catching designs, I would wholeheartedly recommend Terri. Take a look at her main website and you’ll see what I mean. I interviewed Terri on Feisty Side of Fifty Radio so that I could better understand how she worked. Take a listen and see how she can help you.

Ms. Pop Art Diva also has a line of products of her own. Check these out and you’ll be amazed at the wealth of fanciful and spirited creations she’s come up with. If you want to celebrate aging with a pop of color and a big dose of humor, you can’t beat the Pop Art Diva!

Here are a couple of my favorite designs she did for me. Click on them to view the products.

Wonderful stuff, go for it. Starting anything new, besides being hard work is a huge buzz. I hope it brings lots of rewards.

As another happy Pop Art Diva customer (she put the Cool in my Hot Flashbacks/Cool Insights masthead makeover), I agree heartily with your post! Your new store, Pop Art’s store, and the boomer pride they evoke make me glad to be a member of this club! It’d be no fun to “explode the old Old,” as my blog slogan goes, without such great partners in crime. And as Debbie says, the best explosion of all is Pop Art’s color pallette! I like the hues she used on my blog so much, I unconsciously found an artist’s renditon of Tuscany with the same ones for my screensaver. Got quite a wow when I realized it! Now I’ve decided: When I lose more weight and it’s time for a wardrobe makeover, I’m buying my blog colors. Thanks, Eileen–and Pop Art Diva!

Love everything you BOTH do! Thanks for your contribution to all things fun and fabulous! (and helping me to better appreciate color since I get stuck in my basic black!)

Eileen, you’ve definitely bright back the 60’s with a snap and a whistle! Whoo-wee! You and the PopArt Diva must have had a mind meld to complete such artistic designs. Congratulations on the boutique!

As soon as I read the heading to this post, I knew IMMEDIATELY who you were speaking of Eileen 🙂
Popartdiva aka Terri, has successfully managed to capture the world, in full colour and I too am a fan! Thanks for posting this article.

That’s two of us who owe our stores to the PopArt queen. She did the designs for Traveling Bob’s blog and shop. She truly is one talented lady!

Love your stuff! Shall we swap? I’ll send you a Traveling Bob T-Shirt in exchange for a Feisty Boomer shirt!

Eileen – it was truly a pleasure to work with you to create these designs – as well as you masthead. They were right up the alley of this Boomer PopArtDiva – sixties style with sass and attitude and your slogans were the driving force!

Thanks for all the great publicity – you are indeed a feisty woman and a wonderful one to boot!

Eileen, looking at the three designs above, I feel like I’ve fallen back into the 60’s and I love it. It’s nice to see such positive and fun descriptors about getting older — and, it validates who we are as women with wisdom, women with strength, and women who still have a sense of humor!
